2. Chris Harris Jr.

Chris Harris Jr. is on pace to become an all-time Broncos great, and maybe even a Hall of Famer when it’s all said and done. It could also be seriously argued that Harris Jr. should be the player at the top of this list, but he is coming off of a somewhat down year (for his standards anyway).

Harris Jr. was ranked as the 29th best overall corner in football last season by PFF, which is a low finish for what Broncos fans have come to expect from the veteran player. Excuses aren’t in Harris DNA, but the Broncos struggles to get a solid rush and stop the run definitely contributed to some of Harris lower ranking.

It also didn’t help that the Broncos played defense for what seemed like 80 percent of every game, because of the trouble that took place on the offensive side of the football.

One area where Harris Jr. continued to stay elite was his ability to defend in the slot. Bleacher Report ranked Harris as the second-best slot defender in the NFL in 2017, behind only his new division foe, Kendall Fuller.

Like Fuller, one of the things that makes Harris so good is his versatility. There really isn’t a situation in a football game where you wouldn’t be feeling great about having Harris on the field.

This upcoming season, it seems likely that Denver will be much improved throughout the roster which will help Harris Jr. to remain a dominant player for the Broncos. Expect him to bounce back with an All-Pro caliber year in 2018.
