Defensive Backs

For whatever reason, there are a number of starting quality defensive backs still available in free agency.

One particular player of interest is former Washington Redskins cornerback Bashaud Breeland, who has played at a pretty high level when healthy.

Over his first four seasons in the NFL, Breeland has eight interceptions and seven forced fumbles. He racked up 268 tackles in that time as well, and the only reason he could possibly still be available is due to health or unknown off-field concerns.

Still, the Broncos have Tramaine Brock leading the pack right now as their starting corner opposite Bradley Roby with Chris Harris Jr. in the slot, and if the young players Brendan Langley and Isaac Yiadom don’t sieze a role, Breeland should get a call.

Upgrade? Yes.

At the safety position, there is a slew of talented players, including former Chargers free safety Tre Boston, former 49ers safety Eric Reid, and veterans like T.J. Ward.

The Broncos’ deepest single position defensively could very well be at safety, so we’ll make this short and sweet.

Upgrade? No.
