There are some interesting NFL free agents still available, but would they be upgrades for the Denver Broncos? We take a look at some names…

The Denver Broncos have themselves a full 90-man roster heading into training camp later in the month of July, but in the NFL, you’re always looking at ways to make your roster better.

With that being said, there are still some big-name free agents available, but are any actually upgrades for the Broncos at this point?

Here’s a look at a few players by position and whether or not they would be upgrades on the Broncos’ roster.

Quarterback: Jay Cutler/Colin Kaepernick vs. Case Keenum

While Cutler has more experience than Keenum and Kaepernick has played in a Super Bowl, it’s hard to justify either of those guys as an upgrade over Keenum currently.

Cutler played last season with the Miami Dolphins and actually notched a very anticlimactic win against his former team, the Broncos while being coached by former Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase.

Kaepernick was nearly acquired by the Broncos prior to the 2016 NFL Draft, but the two sides could not come together on a re-negotiated contract.

As of the 2017 season, there’s really no question that of these three options, Keenum is the best.

Upgrade? No.
