4. Safety

The Denver Broncos have a former Pro Bowl safety in Darian Stewart coming off of a down year looking to bounce back along with Justin Simmons, a budding star at the safety position.

They have the versatile Su’a Cravens, who can play free, in the box, or matched up one-on-one.

They also have Will Parks, a player who can roam all around the defense and play man coverage as well.

The Broncos are also quite pleased with the development of 2017 undrafted players Jamal Carter and Dymonte Thomas, who are both very different types of safeties.

This position group features some of the most talented players on the Broncos’ defense and the presence of Cravens in this group will allow Stewart and Simmons to play their more natural free safety positions, though Simmons can also play some nickel corner for the Broncos if asked to do so.

In this group, the Broncos probably have six players that would be among most teams’ top three safeties. That could ultimately force the team to make a trade at some point to avoid having to cut a really good player and getting nothing in return.

Denver is in really good shape at safety with guys who can hit, guys who can attack the football, and guys who can play a number of different roles for the defense.
