Denver Broncos: Players in line for contract extensions
Matt Paradis, C
The Broncos drafted Matt Paradis out of Boise State in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Like Shaquil Barrett, Paradis spent most of his rookie season on the Broncos’ practice squad, which is why he’s still on a rookie contract more than four years later.
Paradis is the only Broncos player to start every game and play every single snap over the past three seasons.
Considering he had double hip surgery last offseason, that statistic is remarkable.
Paradis has not only been durable, he’s been dependable.
In the NFL, the name of the game is availability and Paradis has been both an able and available player.
As the center market in the NFL continues to rise at a rapid rate, Paradis may price himself out of the Broncos’ range soon. He said at OTAs that no contract negotiations have happened yet, and that’s not a surprise.
If the Broncos didn’t at least offer Paradis something eventually, though, it would be a shocker.
Paradis has exemplified the Bronco way and is a model of toughness for this team. He is a very good player entering the prime years of his career. He will be paid accordingly.
