There’s plenty of intrigue ranking the AFC West quarterbacks due to a youth movement, future Hall of Famer, and a new addition…
The Denver Broncos upgraded their quarterback position in free agency this offseason by signing Case Keenum. Keenum’s season last year raises eyebrows of a possible foot forward. Aside from the Kansas City Chiefs drafting Patrick Mahomes in 2017, the AFC West is pretty steady with decent quarterbacks. However, the most change comes from both the Broncos and Chiefs in the division.
Quarterback play sends a team in a downward spiral or positive direction. Just ask the Denver Broncos about that last season. The franchise dealt with three starting quarterbacks in one year.
Trevor Siemian started the year strong but failed the majority of the time.
Prior to the season, the Broncos re-signed Brock Osweiler and he played better than Siemian; however, it was still bad because the demons of the Houston Texans career loomed large for Osweiler.
Paxton Lynch continues to prove there’s lots of room to grow and develop. Lynch is the only remaining quarterback on the team (active) from last year.
Kansas City lost Alex Smith, trading him to the Washington Redskins, but they seem content to give the reins to Patrick Mahomes.
The Los Angeles Chargers and Oakland Raiders keep their same quarterbacks. Ranking them will be a fun exercise.
Let’s get to the rankings, shall we?
