The Broncos looked to the 2018 NFL Draft to fill the voids created when wide receivers Cody Latimer and Bennie Fowler left Denver in free agency. Latimer signed with the New York Giants, while Fowler signed on with the Chicago Bears.

With a new quarterback in the Mile High City, the chemistry among the thrower and pass catcher becomes less of a concern. Courtland Sutton (2nd round) and DaeSean Hamilton (4th round) are those rookies Denver should expect to play significant roles.

As of right now, Sanders is locked in at one of the starting receiver spots, while Demaryius Thomas is the team’s top guy. However, it would not surprise me at all if Sutton shows enough in training camp, making Sanders expendable.

Sanders could still see himself on a new team despite Jordan Taylor recovering from double-hip surgeries this offseason.  Denver has a crowded wide receiver room, and the Broncos have already shown that they are okay with letting some of their better players walk. Veteran running back C.J. Anderson signed with Carolina in the offseason after being released.

Is it likely that the Broncos will move on from Sanders? I don’t know if I’d call it that. But it would not be a complete surprise if Sanders leaves the Mile High City during the preseason.
