6. Denver Broncos: Su’a Cravens, S/LB

Another savvy move made by the Broncos was a trade they made to acquire safety/linebacker Su’a Cravens from the Redskins.

Cravens fell out of favor with the Redskins after contemplating retirement following a very good rookie season.

According to Pro Football Focus, Cravens was best in the NFL among rookies in passer rating allowed when in coverage at his position.

Cravens does a great job playing in the box and is very instinctive and physical as a safety, but where he helps the Broncos most is perhaps covering backs and tight ends.

Cravens brings a dynamic and unique skill set to the Broncos’ defense, and also brings a phenomenal personality. His passion for football seems rejuvenated and he’s been working hard all offseason.

The Broncos had a first-round grade on Cravens when he was coming out of USC in 2016, and now they have him in the fold after simply swapping mid-round draft picks with the Redskins.
