1. The OT throw to DT

The most incredible play in Tim Tebow’s time with the Denver Broncos, and arguably the most iconic play in Denver Broncos history aside from John Elway’s ‘helicopter’ play, came on the last great moment Denver fans would have with Tebow.

The NFL was transitioning to the modern overtime rule, where teams could no longer win with just a field goal in sudden death.

If the team who possessed the ball first scored just a field goal, the other team would have a chance with the ball to either match or score a touchdown and win the game. If the team that had the ball first scored a touchdown, the game was over.

Jim Nantz is explaining to the viewers that the Broncos had been in three overtime games already in 2011, and that they had won every game.

As he was sharing that statistic, Tebow threw the ball to Demaryius Thomas on the first play from scrimmage in overtime on a slant play.

Thomas had one man to beat, and he beat him.

The rest is history.
