Denver Broncos: The top 10 Tim Tebow moments
2. Game-winning TD vs. Jets
With less than six minutes remaining in a Thursday Night prime time game against the New York Jets, the Broncos had the ball deep in their own territory.
They would need 95 yards to score a touchdown to win, but they at least had to get into field goal range to tie.
The drive nearly started with a safety on a swing pass from Tebow to Eddie Royal, but Royal was able to move the ball forward and give the Broncos some breathing room.
Tebow and the Broncos’ offense continued chipping away at the Jets’ defense play after play, running an option to the left for a first down, a pass to Demaryius Thomas for nine yards, and another designed quarterback run for Tebow that moved the chains.
Approaching midfield, Tebow scanned the field on a pass play and didn’t see anything he liked, so he took off and ran right at Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, who at the time was the premier corner in the game.
Tebow put his shoulder down and tried to run right through Revis, who just got out of the way.
Then, on 3rd and 4 with just over a minute left in the game, Tebow retreats away from a defensive back blitz, finds a clearing, and sprints upfield for one of the most incredible touchdown runs of his career.
Right before he reaches the end zone, Tebow breaks one more tackle with ease as he lumbers in and the crowd in Denver is in a state of euphoric shock at this point.
This was one drive and one play in particular Broncos fans will never forget.
