Carlos Henderson, age 23

The Broncos drafted Henderson in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft in hopes that he would be able to be the YAC monster in the NFL that he was in college.

No receiver in the 2017 NFL Draft class or 2018 NFL Draft class for that matter was as effective in the open field as Henderson was in his final two seasons at Louisiana Tech.

Henderson has great straight line speed, but is elusive and physical in the open field when he needs to be, and has the ability to see the field like a running back with the ball in his hands.

The problem with Henderson so far has been almost all health issues.

He missed his rookie season with a thumb injury, and has missed time in the 2018 offseason with a hamstring injury.

Broncos head coach Vance Joseph was not happy about Henderson’s absence at OTAs, likely because Henderson was also arrested earlier in 2018 and has to work his way out of hot water with the coaching staff.

This is a talented player who can definitely help the Broncos, but is he focused on the right things? The Broncos need to make sure he develops quickly so he can contribute in year two.
