Isaiah McKenzie, age 23

Isaiah McKenzie’s rookie season was one to forget, for the most part.

He finished the year with more fumbles (six) than receptions (four), but also showed some of his explosiveness in the return game.

In year two, McKenzie has a new number (16) and hopefully a newfound confidence as a player. The Broncos picked McKenzie in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft with hopes that he could be their primary return specialist, and they tried to force that dream into reality.

McKenzie’s development is not over and done with after one poor season, however. The Broncos still have high hopes for him and rightly so.

McKenzie has exceptional speed, quickness, and athleticism, and is very tough to tackle in the open field. If he can get a hold on the football he’s going to be a dangerous playmaker.

The Broncos need to find ways to get McKenzie involved offensively, but he first needs to gain the trust of the coaching staff and find ways to hold onto the ball.
