Courtland Sutton, age 22

With the 40th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Broncos probably didn’t anticipate being able to select a player the caliber of Courtland Sutton.

Even in a year where the wide receiver class was considered to be weak at the top, Sutton presented phenomenal value at the top of round two after many thought he could go as high as the middle of the first round to a team like the Arizona Cardinals or Baltimore Ravens.

Sutton’s slide out of round one proved to be an awesome development for the Broncos, who gladly scooped him up and added him to their receiver room.

Through OTAs, Sutton proved why the Broncos used such a premium draft selection on him.

He was making one-handed catches, using his big frame to shield off defenders, and making strides as a route runner every day.

Sutton’s ability to adjust to poorly thrown passes and make plays in contested situations are his best traits as a receiver.

He will play a significant role in 2018.
