David Williams, age 24
The Broncos used a seventh-round draft pick on David Williams, so they obviously didn’t want him to have a chance to talk to other teams as an undrafted player.
Considering how much the team likes Phillip Lindsay (who we will talk about in a moment), their decision to draft Williams is intriguing at the very least.
Williams started off his college career as a backup at South Carolina before transferring to Arkansas where he ran behind Bret Bielema’s offensive line.
Williams excelled as a senior this past year, leading the Razorbacks in rushing and finishing with eight total touchdowns.
Watching him on tape, perhaps his most impressive attribute is a natural feel for pass protection.
Williams is a gifted athlete who can do a little bit of everything well, but nothing stands out as ‘elite’.
He’s going to have to do a really good job of standing out in pads, where he can use his size and physicality to his advantage.
