Denver Broncos: What we learned about each position during OTAs
Running Back
It’s hard to get a true evaluation
With no pads and not much live contact, it’s hard to get a read on the running back position.
Devontae Booker is projected to be the starter at this position, but third-round rookie Royce Freeman will be right on his heels.
The Broncos incorporated Freeman and rookies David Williams and Phillip Lindsay into the mix with the starting offense, but the team seems very excited about Freeman and Lindsay in particular.
With De’Angelo Henderson recovering from injuries he suffered in a car accident, his breakthrough will likely come later.
For now, it’s the undrafted Lindsay from Colorado dominating the headlines.
Lindsay has the best speed of anyone at the running back position, but he’s also the smallest player.
For that reason, many feel like he can capture a role similar to that of Chris Thompson of the Washington Redskins.
Lindsay’s natural playmaking abilities have also gotten him some looks as a returner for the Broncos.
