Cornerback

Who will step up?

The departure of Aqib Talib has unfortunately taken the Broncos from a position of exceptional depth to somewhat of a question mark.

Bradley Roby is excited about an expanded role, but the main reason the Broncos’ secondary was the ‘No Fly Zone’ over the past four years was because of the insane depth they had at cornerback.

Their fourth corner for many of this group’s years together — literally — became someone else’s starter last season (Kayvon Webster).

The Broncos’ enviable depth took a hit with the loss of Talib, so who is going to step up?

After OTAs, that’s still an unknown.

It could be veteran Tramaine Brock, who signed a one-year contract in free agency.

It could be Brendan Langley, a third rounder last year who made strides this offseason.

It could be another third rounder in Isaac Yiadom, a rookie out of Boston College.

Maybe someone else will step up in the meantime, but the competition for roughly 60-70 percent of the defensive snaps seems up for grabs at this point. Someone is going to play a major role and at this point, no one knows who it will be.
