With Shane Ray on the sidelines for a bit, Shaquil Barrett is looking to take advantage. He has set himself with some nice goals for the upcoming season.

In my eyes, Shaquil Barrett has been an unsung hero on the Denver Broncos defense when his number has been called. He stepped up in a big way when Demarcus Ware went down with injury during the Super Bowl 50 run. He makes some amazing tackles and sacks that has us cheering him on.

Barrett is looking to bring even more heat, more excitement for the 2018 season. And with his former teammate Demarcus Ware helping him out, expect a lot of great things from the Colorado State player.

Shaquil Barrett chatted with the media after Wednesday’s mini-camp session. He revealed that he has some personal goals in mind for the upcoming season. What can we expect from Shaquil Barrett this season?

“Just a better season then last year. That’s all I need to do is get better from last year and that’s going to be a good season. It should be a great year. As long as I am healthy going into it, it’s going to be a great year.” [Quote from Denver Broncos PR]

We hope that it will be a solid year as well Barrett. In his first four seasons with the team, (three on the active roster) Barrett has recorded eleven sacks. What is his goal for the 2018 season?

“Double-digit sacks” [Quote from Denver Broncos PR]

Double digit sacks is a possibility. A good opportunity lies ahead of him with Shane Ray missing time with injury and Bradley Chubb learning the Broncos playbook. If he can get a good amount of sacks before Shane Ray returns, it can happen.

Looking forward to seeing Shaquil Barrett ball out in 2018. If he performs, he can help the Denver Broncos get back to the playoffs.
