Antonio Simmons, Outside Linebacker, Georgia Tech

More from Predominantly Orange

Antonio Simmons is yet another freakish athlete, checking in at 6-foot-2, 252 pounds.

At the Georgia Tech pro day, he ran a ridiculous 4.51-second 40-yard dash, some timers clocking him at a 4.48.

That’s a fast time regardless of position, but for an outside linebacker/defensive end type of player, that kind of speed is borderline unheard of.

Von Miller ran a 4.49.

Unlike Miller, however, Simmons was not able to be a consistent starter in college.

Simmons doesn’t always excel against the run but is a phenomenal speed rusher with the ability to change direction very quickly.

He led Georgia Tech in sacks (6) and tackles for loss (8) last season, and though the numbers aren’t crazy, this is a player capable of being very productive off the edge.

When teams are in obvious passing situations, he’s extremely hard to contain.

With 30 bench press reps at the Georgia Tech pro day, it’s clear there’s more to Simmons than meets the eye. Perhaps the Broncos can extract the best out of him.
