Bo Bower, Linebacker, Iowa

Bo Bower is a rookie free agent who initially picked the Minnesota Vikings on a tryout basis, and obviously, no deal was consummated between the two parties.

Bower was very successful for the Iowa Hawkeyes over the past four seasons, two as a full-time starter alongside fellow Broncos rookie Josey Jewell as noted previously.

He had at least 90 tackles each of the past two seasons and showed outstanding athleticism at the Iowa pro day with a 4.57-second 40-yard dash, 34.5-inch vertical jump, and 19 bench press reps.

At 6-foot-2, 236 pounds, Bower has an intriguing blend of size and athleticism, and obviously, he brings an element of leadership with him from his days at Iowa.

Bower was a walk-on before earning a scholarship in college, and he’ll face a similar road at the professional ranks.

Even if the practice squad is his best bet, this is a player who was very productive both against the run and in coverage at Iowa that can contribute and make an impact in preseason play.
