Denver Broncos quarterback Case Keenum expresses his happiness about working with quarterback coach Mike Sullivan in his first year in Denver.

There has been a lot of chance with the Denver Broncos this offseason; none more important than at the quarterback position. Denver hired Mike Sullivan to be the man to coach the team’s most important position.

The guy who Sullivan was given to quarterback the Broncos is happy with the fact that he gets to work with ‘Sully’. Case Keenum, signed as a free agent from the Minnesota Vikings this offseason, is grateful for the opportunity to work with him.

“It’s great, I love ‘Sully’ (Sullivan). He does a tremendous job getting us prepared each day for practice. He’s very meticulous, but we have a good time in the meeting room, too. It’s all business, but we’re building a good relationship and good rapport. We have a good quarterback room. All those guys, I’m really appreciative of how the quarterback room is operating.” [Quote from Denver Broncos PR]

Sullivan has been in the NFL since 2002. He started out as the defensive quality control coordinator with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The following year, his title changed to offensive assistant.

From 2004-2009, he was the wide receivers coach for the New York Giants. Then he spent the next two seasons as the Giants’ quarterbacks coach, with 2-time Super Bowl quarterback Eli Manning at the helm. He also spent 2015 as quarterbacks coach for the G-Men and switched to offensive coordinator for the team the following two seasons (2016-2017).

He was the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2012-2013.

Next: Mini-Camp Denver Broncos Roster Predictions

Last year, the Broncos used three quarterbacks throughout the sixteen-game season. The quarterback position was a huge question mark the entire year. Case Keenum’s signing threw those questions out the window.

Sullivan is clearly qualified for the task of coaching the Broncos’ quarterbacks. One of the most important things is the relationship between a coach and his players. The duo of Case Keenum and Sullivan already look like a match made in heaven and we are just into the mini camp portion of things.
