The Denver Broncos made a variety of moves to improve their team after a 5-11 finish in ’17. That makes this pessimistic prediction a real head scratcher…

The Denver Broncos made a lot of moves in 2018 to ensure they don’t finish with a record as bad as their 5-11 mark in 2017.

From the moment free agency opened in March, the Broncos set out to make improvements to their roster, agreeing to a contract with quarterback Case Keenum.

As the offseason progressed, the Broncos continued pushing the right buttons, drafting defensive end Bradley Chubb with their top pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Our friends over at Sports Illustrated don’t seem to think the Broncos are going to fare well in 2018, however.

Everyone has their own opinions about what will or could happen in the NFL at this time of year, but this prediction seems excessively pessimistic.

The Broncos managed to lose an embarrassing 11 games last season with some of the worst quarterback play I have ever seen as a fan of the game.

With that being said, there’s little chance it could be worse this season unless, like Ryan Koenigsberg states, the person making the prediction is guessing the Broncos will have to endure a major injury or seven or eight.

Predicting the Broncos to win just four games this season is one I would gladly bet against. the Broncos have made significant improvements to their roster, and are simply far more talented as a group than they were at this point a season ago.

With the improvements made on both sides of the ball, the Broncos appear poised to once again contend for the AFC West. With the Kansas City Chiefs trading Alex Smith, the division appears to be wide open.

If you don’t think Case Keenum is going to play up to the standard he set last season, that’s a different argument entirely. Opinions of Keenum seem to be really different across the board, but predicting a tank like this is on another level of pessimism.
