Case Keenum

The obvious pick for the greatest instant impact this offseason is Case Keenum.

Keenum is the best quarterback the Broncos will have had since the 2014 version of Peyton Manning, and there’s an understandable excitement around Broncos camp because of this guy alone.

Keenum’s career prior to 2017 was unspectacular. He had the look of a career backup and journeyman before his opportunity came with the Minnesota Vikings.

Playing in relief of Sam Bradford, Keenum was voted the 51st best player in the entire league last season by his peers in the NFL. He played at an MVP level at times for the Vikings and helped lead them to an NFC Championship game.

The Broncos signed Keenum to a two-year contract, and can obviously tag him after that in an emergency situation.

They passed on quarterbacks throughout the entire 2018 NFL Draft and put all their eggs in Keenum’s basket.

Having solid quarterback play can immediately elevate this Broncos team back into playoff contention and for that reason, the addition of Keenum this offseason gives the Broncos renewed hope.
