Bradley Chubb

When the Cleveland Browns took Denzel Ward with the fourth overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, much of Broncos Country was like defensive coordinator Joe Woods — they nearly fainted.

Cleveland taking Ward left Bradley Chubb on the board, and the Broncos didn’t have to think twice.

They picked the best defensive player in the entire draft and added a pass rusher opposite Von Miller that can have an impact right away.

The Broncos are in a rare situation with the inclusion of Chubb in their defense.

The only teams that come to mind immediately that have been able to draft two players as talented as Chubb and Miller onto the same team while both players are in their prime or younger years are the Houston Texans (Jadeveon Clowney, J.J. Watt) and Los Angeles Chargers (Melvin Ingram, Joey Bosa).

The Broncos obviously were able to sign DeMarcus Ware in 2014 and pair him with Von Miller, but Ware was on the back end of a glorious career.

The Broncos now have one of the best defensive players in the entire league in Miller, and a player many feel is on the same or at least a similar level to the likes of Bosa or Khalil Mack off the edge in Chubb.

With the Broncos’ depth on the defensive front, Chubb should be a major impact player from day one.
