Denver Broncos Defense: Super Bowl 50 vs 2018
2015 roster: Von Miller, Shaq Barrett, Lerentee McCray, DeMarcus Ware, Shane Ray, Brandon Marshall, Todd Davis, Danny Trevathan, Corey Nelson.
2018 offseason roster: Von Miller, Shane Ray, Todd Davis, Brandon Marshall, Shaquil Barrett, Zaire Anderson, Keishawn Bierria, Jerrol Garcia-Williams, Josey Jewell, Joseph Jones, Deiontrez Mount (IR – Achilles), Marcus Rush, Bradley Chubb, Jeff Holland, Stansley Maponga.
The linebacker position is one of the positions I am most interested in. You’ve got one of the best if not the best-linebackers in the entire league in Von Miller coming back for his 8th season. He’s only getting better. Pair Miller up with Brandon Marshall and Todd Davis again. You can easily make a case that the trio is the best in the league.
Shane Ray is playing on a prove-it-for-another-team deal, as the Broncos decided not to pick up his fifth-year option. The hope is that he focuses on playing to the best of his ability to help the Broncos in his final year with the team. Then, he should get some offers that he can’t refuse.
Denver looked to the 2018 NFL draft and selected Bradley Chubb with the fifth overall pick. Chubb is regarded as the best linebacker in this draft class and obviously, one of the best players selected.
The Broncos came out and said that they were shocked that Chubb was available when it was time for them to select a player. They thought he was going to the Browns. The Browns chose cornerback Denzel Ward instead.
This linebacker group is great. The only thing I wish was different is: I want DeMarcus Ware to come back as a player. Instead, he has been spending time with the team as a pass-rushing consultant. I guess that will have to do.
