Tight End

  1. Chiefs (Travis Kelce)- “Fake Gronk” may be the best tight end in the league. Therefore provides the Chiefs with the best situation in the West. No need to say more.
  2. Chargers (Hunter Henry, Virgil Green)- Henry is a tight end with great upside which gives him the slight edge over Jared Cook. Henry was good enough for the Chargers to let go of future Hall of Famer Antonio Gates and should see more targets this upcoming season. Add in Green as a solid back-up and Rivers should continue to rely on his tight ends.                    Update: Hunter Henry Suffered a torn ACL in OTA’s. This injury drops the Chargers to number four on the list.
  3. Raiders (Jared Cook, Lee Smith)- With the Raiders current tight end situation what you see is what you get. Cook is a very solid tight end but at this point in his career, there isn’t much room for growth. Add on the influx of weapons and Cooks targets should see a decline.
  4. Broncos (Jake Butt, Troy Fumagalli, Jeff Heuerman)- After missing his rookie year Jake Butt has high expectations from Broncos Country. The hope is that the Broncos will finally have a formidable tight end they haven’t seen since Julius Thomas. The three tight ends are all young and should all be competing for playing time during training camp. Whoever wins the job must become a viable target for third downs and the red-zone.
