After improving throughout the off-season the Denver Broncos seem ready to compete for the AFC West title, but how do they compare to the rest of the West?
John Elway and the rest of the Denver Broncos’ front office had a tough task ahead of them after a disappointing 5-11 season. A season that saw the Broncos finish last place in the AFC West. Something that is very uncommon in the Mile High City.

After adding quarterback Case Keenum to solidify the team’s biggest need, the Broncos looked at adding depth to both the offensive and defensive lines as well as the secondary. Outside of Keenum, there were not many splash signings but solid veteran contributors that will add much needed depth to the team.
Where the Broncos added that splash was through the draft, getting many players who will make an impact early in their careers. The Broncos’ draft class was heralded by many experts across the league and creates intrigue of how good this team can be this season.
On the other side, the Chiefs, Chargers, and Raiders are a bit of an unknown. The Chiefs, who won the division last season, are now rolling with a quarterback with one career start.
The Raiders seemed to add many players over the age of 30. While the Chargers seem to be the best team on paper, they have a history of underachieving.
We won’t know who will reign supreme in the AFC West until the actual games are being played, obviously, but we can see how the teams are ranked position by position.
