Denver Broncos outside linebacker Deiontrez Mount left practice on a cart at OTAs after walking off the field with a limp…

The Denver Broncos are back on the practice field for another OTA session, and the injury bug has made a most unwelcome appearance.

Outside linebacker Deiontrez Mount was seen limping off the field before ultimately being taken off the practice field and into the locker room on a cart.

Any time a player is carted off the field, it’s usually not a good sign.

Mount hasn’t generated a ton of offseason hype since the Broncos are incredibly deep at outside linebacker, but he was showing some signs of nice development late last season.

After signing with the Broncos late in the pre-season, Mount ended up on the practice squad and got called up to the active roster after injuries started popping up.

Mount was one of the areas of focus of potential diamonds in the rough on the roster going into the offseason before the 2018 NFL Draft or free agency.

The Broncos identified Mount as a target after he was initially drafted into the league by the Tennessee Titans, and wound up picking off a pass in the first career game of Jameis Winston back in 2015.

After being let go by the Titans, Mount wound up with the Indianapolis Colts where he struggled with injuries and was ultimately released from their injured reserve before he was picked up by the Broncos.

He is facing a very tough road to making the Broncos, but he can certainly make the decision difficult for Denver, generate trade interest around the league, or generate interest from other teams in general by putting out some good tape in the next couple of months.

Hopefully the cart was brought out as a mere precaution, and Mount won’t be forced to miss any significant time.
