Chris Harris Jr. will remain in the slot

There was hope this offseason that Chris Harris Jr. would be able to kick outside and play a little more boundary cornerback this season, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Harris said he’s likely going to be staying in the slot this season since no one in the NFL — much less on the same roster as him — can do what he does in man coverage at that position.

That means we’re likely to see someone else step up as a boundary corner in place of Aqib Talib, and it also means the Broncos won’t have to replace two major roles in their defense.

Denver will have some tough competition for that outside cornerback position between veteran Tramaine Brock, rookie Isaac Yiadom, and second-year player Brendan Langley, who was demoted during his rookie season.
