Depth off the edge is ridiculous

The Broncos’ deepest position offensively is very clearly at wide receiver.

Defensively, it’s pretty obviously the outside linebacker position.

The Broncos have four players that would easily start for just about any team, whether as a number one or number two edge guy.

Shane Ray, whose fifth-year option wasn’t picked up by the team, is getting closer to being full strength and said he doesn’t blame the Broncos for not picking up the $9 million contract for 2019.

He also revealed his wrist injury last season was much more severe than people thought. He had to have three surgeries to repair a completely dislocated wrist.

For him to have come back and played football with that type of injury last season sounds insane in hindsight, but he wanted to be out there with his teammates, which is understandable but was perhaps not the best idea for all involved parties.

With Ray coming back hopefully at full strength, Shaquil Barrett back on his RFA contract, and the drafting of Bradley Chubb to go along with future Hall of Famer Von Miller, the Broncos’ top four off the edge are enviable.
