Four things we want to see from the Denver Broncos at OTAs

The starting five offensive linemen

This may be a lot to ask, but when was the last time we saw the actual starting five offensive linemen at Broncos OTA session? 2013?

It’s been long enough that I honestly don’t even remember, and continuity with this unit should be an emphasis for the Broncos this year.

Does this mean they need to eliminate competition? Not necessarily, but the strategy that was employed last year of rotating guards with Max Garcia and Allen Barbre was an atrocious one.

That hot garbage continued on into the regular season.

Would it really be too much to ask to see the offensive lineup at OTAs look like this?

Garett Bolles — Ron Leary — Matt Paradis — Connor McGovern — Jared Veldheer

That is something I would like to see, and I would like to see it stay that way without ‘rotations’ at right guard or anything stupid like that. I definitely don’t mind competition especially if someone is playing really well, but that offensive line looks on paper like an upgrade over last year’s group and there’s really no reason the team needs to tinker with it if things are going well through the first few weeks of offseason activities.

UPDATE:

There will be no Jared Veldheer at OTAs. Hopefully we’ll get to see the official starting five for the majority of training camp, and the Broncos will solidify their swing tackle (probably Menelik Watson) with this update.
