Denver Broncos top draft choice Bradley Chubb is taking his leadership role very seriously with the team in 2018. James Palmer has more…

The Denver Broncos drafted North Carolina State defensive end Bradley Chubb with their top selection in the 2018 NFL Draft. Though they didn’t expect Chubb to be on the board when they went on the clock, the team now has high expectations for him as a player and leader on this team.

Chubb wore the captain’s ‘C’ on his jersey at N.C. State, and it wasn’t just a seniority thing. Chubb exemplifies leadership on and off the field, and he’s already doing that with the Denver Broncos.

According to NFL Network’s James Palmer, Chubb is taking his role very seriously:

One of the coolest stories about Chubb already early in his rookie year with the Broncos is the Peyton Manning-like response he had when asked what he would do with his first NFL paycheck.

Chubb’s response — similar to Manning’s famous response — included his plans of earning that money.

According to Palmer in that video linked above, Chubb is sitting in the front row of position group meetings. He’s impressing coaches with his work ethic which should come as no surprise at all.

This is a player who was known in college for being an incredibly hard worker, and for that hard work paying off on Saturdays.

It still hasn’t sunk in fully that the Broncos added a player of this caliber to a defense that already includes Von Miller in his prime years. I think of the Raiders adding Khalil Mack a few years back, and what it would be like if the Broncos could have added a prospect like that or Joey Bosa with the Chargers.

That is the type of prospect the Broncos are getting in Chubb. They are getting a relentless rusher with astronomical upside (see what I did there?) who can help this team immediately and into the future.

Chubb’s leadership can only grow stronger with the example he continues to set.
