Wide Receiver

Additions: Courtland Sutton, DaeSean Hamilton

Loses: Cody Latimer, Bennie Fowler

Heading into 2017, the Broncos hoped Latimer or Fowler could become a solid third receiving option. Neither developed into much of a receiving threat but the Broncos addressed that this off-season. By drafting two talented receivers who can play on the outside or in the slot, the Broncos clearly improved this position group.

The Verdict: Improved

Not only do these picks improve the wide receiver group for the present, it sets up the receiver group for the future. With Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas both on the wrong side of 30, finding their eventual replacements was a smart move. Looking forward to the 2019 off-season, Thomas and/or Sanders could be released to save cap space.
