Sam Jones, OG, Arizona State

Sam Jones’ (the left guard, no. 76 in the game film) path to the Denver Broncos was as interesting as anyone in this year’s draft class.

The Colorado native had been training with former Broncos offensive lineman Matt McChesney just a few minutes away from the team facility this offseason in Denver, and despite never taking a pre-draft visit with the Broncos dreamed of playing for them his entire life.

Jones left Arizona State after his junior season because the team made a coaching change this offseason (former NFL coach and ESPN analyst Herm Edwards is now the lead man at Arizona State).

Whether or not anyone agreed with that choice, Jones had been in college for four years (redshirt junior) and had proven he could play.

He needs to continue to add strength, but this is a player who could factor into the lineup as soon as 2019.
