Isaac Yiadom, CB, Boston College

For the second time in three years, the Broncos used a compensatory third-round selection on a defensive back out of Boston College.

In 2016, it was safety Justin Simmons, who is now a starter in the No Fly Zone and a key piece of the team’s defense.

In 2018, it was Yiadom, whom the Broncos coached at the 2018 Senior Bowl and fell in love with there.

Yiadom has excellent length at the cornerback position, with a 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame and excellent reaction skills as well as the ability to play the ball.

With the ability to contribute right away on special teams, Yiadom will have the opportunity to let his role in the Broncos’ defense grow organically, though there is an opening right now at the nickel or number three corner position.

It would not surprise me to see Yiadom, who is physical and excels in man coverage, to break the defensive rotation right away as a rookie.
