Recapping the Denver Broncos 2018 NFL Draft class
Taking another look at the Denver Broncos’ 2018 NFL Draft class — 10 selections headlined by North Carolina State’s Bradley Chubb…
Two years removed from a Super Bowl win, the Denver Broncos had been missing a clear identity.
The revival of the Orange Crush for the 2014-15 seasons seemed like a distant memory in 2017 when the Broncos and new head coach Vance Joseph went 5-11, including an eight-game losing streak.
Just two seasons removed from winning it all, John Elway was seemingly at one of the most critical junctures of his tenure as General Manager.
The Broncos needed to nail this year’s draft, and fortunately for them, it looks like they did.
With top pick Bradley Chubb and many others now in the fold, the Broncos may be able to get to the quarterback with the absurd regularity they did back in 2015 when they led the NFL with a whopping 52 sacks.
Expecting Chubb to be DeMarcus Ware is a bit unfair, but expecting this Broncos defense to be that much better with him in the fold is not unreasonable in the least.
Elway made a huge statement this offseason by passing on Kirk Cousins as well as every top quarterback (and every quarterback in general) in this year’s rookie class.
He rebuilt this roster with one big offseason and a draft class that is hopefully set to make an instant impact. Here’s a recap of every selection, with analysis of how each player can fit going forward.
