Free agents who could still help the Denver Broncos

Eric Reid, S, 49ers

The Denver Broncos are already pretty deep at the safety position, but to think Eric Reid wouldn’t be an upgrade at the strong safety position would be wrong, in my opinion.

Reid, along with the majority of the top safeties in this year’s free agent class, seem to have been put on the back burner by most NFL teams.

There are rumblings that Reid is being blacklisted for his protesting during the National Anthem, but that hasn’t prevented the Broncos from sticking with Brandon Marshall.

Reid is just 26 years old, and could give the Broncos a really well-rounded secondary with Su’a Cravens roaming all around the field in nickel situations, ‘dime backer’ situations, and Will Parks sort of playing a little bit all over the place as well.

When Reid was coming out of LSU, I thought he had a chance to be a phenomenal safety, and he’s proven when healthy to be a very good player. He would be an interesting pickup at this point in the offseason.
