Lowell Lotulelei, DT Utah

This signing reminds me of Kyle Peko a few seasons back. Peko signed the most lucrative contract of the players in his undrafted class, but Lotulelei has an uphill battle ahead.

Lotulelei is not tall for defensive tackle, and there were inconsistencies with his hand placement and motor in 2017.

In 2016, many scouts had a day one or two grade on Lotulelei. Lotulelei worked on his game, but bigger problems arose. Scouts were questioning his love for the game. On the other hand, the Denver Broncos picked up Lotulelei in a situation where Bill Kollar can work with him to shed blocks like he did two years ago.

When it all clicks for Lotulelei, he is a very difficult person to stop. The motor turns on to full power and offensive linemen are clueless as to what happens next. As a result, he can beat single blocks.

In a defense where Lotulelei will get single blocks, he could feast and famine all day long. Domata Peko is nearing the end of his career, but the Denver Broncos might have found the replacement for him down the line.
