In-Depth Look at Denver Broncos Undrafted Free Agents
John Diarse, WR Texas Christian
Diarse is the second Horned Frog to join the undrafted class. He has a little more intrigue about him than Jimmy Williams. Diarse is the same height, but is a lot bigger. A slot receiver carries different weight in the NFL nowadays.
The prototypical third target can be a smaller player to evade defenders. Now it is about moving the chains no matter the size.
While he is the same height as Williams, the 20 or more pounds should do Diarse well. However, he is not as quick and elusive as any of the other players on the current roster. Diarse seems like a possession wide receiver with decent wiggle room to create space. Denver could see Diarse as a special teams gunner or returner.
Whether it is Williams or Diarse in this class, special teams carries a good deal of weight. Isaiah McKenzie was a problem, but not the problem. First year special teams coach Brock Olivo seemed to not get the best out his team. Since then, the Broncos hired Tom McMahon to control special teams and he’s one of the best in the business.
