Like Johnson before him, the Denver Broncos do need depth across the board on the offensive line.

It is not about a lack of faith, but more depth due to a potential injuries during the season. Austin Schlottmann is a center from Texas Christian.

Schlottmann is intriguing in his own right because of the current health of Matt Paradis. Connor McGovern can slide into that role; however, the team sees him as the potential starting right guard.

Kirk Ferentz’s son James spent time on the Broncos but is now elsewhere. Schlottmann is a fighter, but he struggles mightily maintaining position. He will be competing against some tough, quick defensive tackles in practice. It will be up to Schlottmann to hold his own by hitting the weight room to add strength his core before facing those guys.

It is unclear what place Sam Jones might have on the current roster. That said, Jones might be the new heir to Paradis, if the team decided to move on. Personally, Schlottmann’s place on the roster does not look good from the outside looking in.
