Connor McGovern/Max Garcia

Denver didn’t take an offensive lineman until the sixth round, and Sam Jones is seen as a project. So why are Connor McGovern and Max Garcia on the hot seat?

As Ian Walsh alluded to, Denver was looking heavily at Will Hernandez at the beginning of day two. Reports even circulated that Denver tried trading into the back of the first round to acquire the UTEP guard. Unfortunately for the Denver Broncos, guards flew off the board at the beginning of the second round.

What this shows is that Denver recognizes the guard spot opposite of Leary as a weak spot. For now, McGovern and Garcia are safe and will battle in training camp. If the spot continues to be a weakness, expect one or both to be gone after next year.
