The Denver Broncos got some help on the offensive line with the draft of Sam Jones from Arizona State. How can he impact the Broncos roster?

The Denver Broncos took care of business on the offensive line as the team has drafted Sam Jones with their first sixth round draft pick. The team was in need of a guard that could help out with Ron Leary moving back to the left guard spot.

As I look more and more into the roster before the selection of Jones, it looks like there was a reason why offensive line was not such a big need. Denver is hopeful that Connor McGovern can take over at right guard and make an impact.

However, when it comes to Sam Jones, he could become a depth player to start that can help right away. He has spent a majority of his collegian career as a left guard. According to his draft profile, his weight could force him to shift to center at some point in his career. What I am most interested about it what can he do at the next level. If he can improve during his time in the NFL, it could benefit the Denver Broncos offensive line.

The Broncos have found success drafting offensive linemen in the sixth round or later. Matt Paradis is a perfect example of a current player in that situation. Paradis found a lot of success and is the bright spot on that line.

For Sam Jones, I see him possibly being a backup. There is also a chance he could spend his first year on the practice squad. It would really depend on how deep the Broncos want to go on the offensive line. That also depends on his summer performance.
