The Denver Broncos drafted Penn State wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton with the 113th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, a true slot player…

The Denver Broncos selected Penn State wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton with the 113th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Hamilton is a four-year starter from Penn State and a team leader who has been very productive through the rebirth of the Nittany Lion football program.

The Broncos have now selected two receivers in this year’s draft, having already taken Courtland Sutton with the 40th overall pick in the second round on day two.

Here’s some of what Hamilton brings to the table:

Hamilton is the all-time leader in receptions in Penn State history, and that earned him an invitation to the 2018 Senior Bowl where he was on the North roster, coached by the Denver Broncos.

I actually had a chance to interview Hamilton prior to the 2018 NFL Draft, and he said this about his experience at the Senior Bowl:

"“The Senior Bowl was pretty fun. You learn basically a rough sketch of what a team’s system is like. What type of terminology a team uses, concepts — it was pretty fun to get a taste of what an NFL team would be like. Each experience you just build on taking in a lot of information. Those weeks aren’t really too hard for guys that understand football.”NFLMocks.com"

Hamilton also has an incredible story, which he unpacked at length with the Good Morning Football crew. Take some time and check this out. This is really an impressive young man.

This is a guy known for his route running ability and strong hands, and the Broncos may have sniped the best slot receiver in this class.

There’s been a clear theme with the Broncos’ picks so far, and it centers around leadership. Hamilton was known as a guy who would take young players under his wing at Penn State, and he embraced that role.

The Broncos are going to get a hard worker who understands the game extremely well, and should compete for snaps right away.
