Quenton Nelson is gone, but that doesn’t mean holes on the offensive line can’t be fixed for the Denver Broncos on day two of the NFL Draft with Will Hernandez…

Guards typically are not all that sought after, but familiarity and best fit are matches made in heaven. Will Hernandez is exactly that player for the Denver Broncos as day two rolls on.

Missing out on Quenton Nelson hurts, but it softens the blow if an addition like Hernandez is made today. Hernandez is a tremendous run blocker that does have connections back to the coaching staff in Denver.

The biggest relationship with the Denver Broncos is their new guard and center coach. Sean Kugler was the UTEP head coach with Will Hernandez the past few seasons. There’s no person that knows Hernandez better than Kugler.

The team can decide to move to James Daniels, but Hernandez is a true guard and instant starter at right guard from day one.

Hernandez helps out immediately in the run game. It is Hernandez’s responsibility to make a player feel it the next morning as a physical run blocker at the point of attack.

The Denver Broncos are missing that piece at right guard currently and Hernandez allows for a seamless transition. If the team decides to move away from Hernandez, it would be a big confidence boost to former fifth round pick Connor McGovern.

Remember, McGovern played fairly well at the tail end of the season.

However, fast forward to today where the Broncos have needs to address, and guard is right at the top.

Expect Will Hernandez to be targeted heavily on day two.
