Second Round, 40th overall: Derrius Guice, RB, LSU

Derrius Guice falling to the 40th overall pick?

If you had told me Guice was falling to the second round in general, I probably would have called you crazy, but there’s obviously a reason this guy is falling.

Whatever the reason is, unless it’s a significant off-field or injury issue, it’s not a good enough reason to pass on him at pick number 40 overall.

The Denver Broncos released C.J. Anderson the week leading up to the 2018 NFL Draft, leaving just Devontae Booker and De’Angelo Henderson on the roster at that position.

I think the Broncos will draft one, maybe two running backs and Guice is a player who would present incredible value in round two, as I had him going as high as 13 overall in some of my mock drafts.

Guice could be a featured back at the next level with size, speed, power, and playmaking ability.

Other Options at 40:

Isaiah Oliver, CB, Colorado

Mason Rudolph, QB, Oklahoma State

Kyle Lauletta, QB, Richmond

Will Hernandez, OG, UTEP

Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia

James Daniels, OL, Iowa

Connor Williams, OL, Texas

Donte Jackson, CB, LSU

D.J. Chark, WR, LSU
