Cornerback

Aqib Talib’s departure does loom large for the team.

Bradley Roby assumes the role left by Talib; however, the Denver Broncos find themselves back where they were beforey they signed Talib. The secondary doesn’t need a third cornerback, but the Broncos showed the desire for extraordinary depth at the position.

There are scenarios where cornerbacks will be taken high if a trade back happens.

More from Predominantly Orange

1). Denzel Ward – Compared to Chris Harris Jr., Denzel Ward is like velcro at defensive back who sticks to his wide receiver. Ward moves exceptionally well to play inside or outside. In fact, the best part about him is he is of the shutdown variety. He would be a hard player to pass up.

2). Isaiah Oliver – Like Ward, Oliver is a true cornerback and is rangy to play with bigger targets and any type of wide receiver. Oliver is a press man corner and attacks every player. The Broncos seem to love that talent.

3). Holton Hill – If taught with proper coaching, Hill can play up to the level of becoming a top corner many saw early on. Hill has decent ball skills and traits that make you drool at times, but is incredibly inconsistent. Lost some technique at corner during the season; however it is easily brought back with coaching.

4). Isaac Yiadom – There is a strong physical presence Isaac Yiadom has that makes you fall in love right away. He’s not afraid to do the dirty work at corner. Yiadom is a tall cornerback at 6’1 and can add bulk around 215 pounds. He’s flexible enough to be considered a safety.

5). MJ Stewart – I mocked MJ Stewart to Denver about a week ago. He also is versatile to play safety and corner. Stewart is not afraid to lower the boom on numerous occasions. There’s also the swagger and confidence he needs to fit in with this defense.
