The Denver Broncos select Bradley Chubb with the fifth overall pick. How will his presence impact the roster going forward?

Time to get excited Broncos Country. Bradley Chubb is the new Denver Broncos edge rusher. After the Cleveland Browns took Denzel Ward at number four, it was an easy choice on who John Elway wanted.

When Demarcus Ware retired after the 2016 season, the Broncos needed to find a pass rusher to compliment Von Miller. Shane Ray spent almost all of 2017 on the sidelines with injury. Shaquil Barrett did sign his second round tender, but his future remains in question since he becomes a free agent next year.

So, there was no doubt that the Broncos were going to grab the North Carolina State edge rusher. I believe he can make an impact right away. I can see him becoming a starter on September 9th against the Seattle Seahawks.

However, he will have some stiff competition in Shane Ray and Shaquil Barrett. But if the Broncos are able to keep all four on the roster, imagine the quarterback sacks the Broncos defense will rack up in 2018 and beyond.

The biggest question is will the Denver Broncos be able to hold on to all four linebackers? If they are able to make some solid decisions and keep them, it will be quite the defense to go up against as far as the outside linebackers go.

However, if they’re unable to, there is going to at least be a year or two that all four players will be on the roster. If the offense can improve a bit, this Broncos team can be dangerous in 2018.

Looking forward to what Bradley Chubb can bring to the table in 2018. A lot of sacks are in the Broncos future.
