Pick By Cameron Parker, Staff Writer

There’s been recent rumblings of a change here at where the Cleveland Browns go. Darnold has been the lock it seems since day one, but recent emergence of Baker Mayfield gives pause. However, John Dorsey sticks to his original guns and drafts Sam Darnold. Darnold has all the tools necessary to be a top flight quarterback in the NFL for a long time.

2. Saquon Barkley – New York Giants

Pick by Ty Walden, Co-Editor

With the second overall pick, the Giants could have gone with a quarterback to be the successor to Eli Manning. However, there was no passing up on the Penn State running back. A team that needs a playmaker to run the football will help Manning and the rest of the offense for the Giants.

This could be a game changer for the New York Giants. Barkley is fast and he can make the big time plays on the ground and in the passing game if needed. It is normally a gamble to take a running back so high in the draft, but the Giants are willing to take their risks with Saquan Barkley. If it pays off for them, they could have their running back of the future.

3. Baker Mayfield – New York Jets

Pick by Staff Writer Andrew Wade

The New York Jets get their quarterback of the future in Baker Mayfield. The Jets need fiery leadership on the offensive side of the ball to match Jamal Adam’s defensive leadership. In Mayfield, Todd Bowles gets his guy at quarterback who can handle the bright lights of New York and give him an opportunity to learn behind seasoned veteran, Josh McCown.

4. Denzel Ward – Cleveland Browns

Pick by Co-Editor Sayre Bedinger

The Browns are in a rare position in this draft. They can take the top QB on their board — whether that’s Darnold, Mayfield, Allen, or Rosen — and still get one of the top ranked non-quarterbacks on their board.

In this case, they get their top ranked defensive back and a game-changer in Denzel Ward.
