Running backs

In 2016, Latavius Murray was the bell cow of Musgrave’s offense. While Murray is not the most talented running back, he does have an intriguing combination of size and speed. Saquon Barkley would be a nice fit, as he would with any team, but having a star running back is not necessary in this offense.

Drafting a running back early was not a priority until CJ Anderson was released. Although Denver does like the running backs currently on the roster, one prospect who fits nicely has already been linked to the Broncos is Rashaad Penny. Another mid-round fit is Nick Chubb from Georgia who is a powerful runner and deceptively fast.

Two later round prospects are Kalen Ballage from Arizona State and Gus Edwards from Rutgers. Both players are raw prospects that will need time to develop, but their size and speed combinations are intriguing.
