Should the Denver Broncos be evaluating Lamar Jackson?

Baker Mayfield

If you have read my past articles, I am high on Mayfield. This report validates my arguments.

Everyone knows Mayfield is accurate, but this accurate? Mayfield’s adjusted completion percentage of 81.2% is five percentage points higher than the second place quarterback. This is nearly twenty percentage points higher than Allen’s 63.6%.

His accuracy is incredible. Mayfield didn’t place first in accuracy in only one metric, accuracy outside of the pocket. He placed third.

His mental processing is on point as well. His 22% of attempted throws beyond the first read ties him for first with Lamar Jackson. Additionally, his adjusted conversation rate in the red zone places him first by seven percentage points.

If there is one negative to glean from this data is that Mayfield’s ball placement could use some work. His placement numbers consistently place him within the second to fifth range.
