1. Cornerback

This may shock some people, but I feel like the Broncos’ number one need both immediately and down the line is at the cornerback position.

Now, obviously, this becomes a bit less pressing if the Broncos are able to come to a new contract agreement with former first round pick Bradley Roby, but nevertheless, this is a position the Broncos have invested a lot in while John Elway has been general manager.

It would not shock me to see the Broncos take a corner in the first or second round of the draft, and certainly no later than round three.

They have brought in more cornerbacks (five) than any other position on official pre-draft visits, and three of the players they’ve brought in would be considered with their 2nd-3rd round picks, and possibly even if they trade back into the bottom end of the first round.

The Broncos’ ‘No Fly Zone’ has been dependent on the team having three cornerbacks that can shut opposing receivers down. Adding another young player who is aggressive with speed on the outside could be exactly what the Broncos’ defense needs to maintain its elite form.
